deadline of July 1, 2012 is fast approaching.
Let's consider GAL problems that Chief Justice Saufley mentioned to the Maine legislature in March. Do any of these seem familiar:

2.) Failure to follow statutes about GALs: get to know child, conduct an investigation, follow up on leads, do reports in a timely manner.
3.) Getting into open conflict with clients.
4.) Bias.
5.) Ethical issues.
