Private communications between Judge and GAL take a sledge hammer to a courtroom hearing. The judge and GAL have privately settled your case 'ex parte', and you haven't a clue.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2125220381040097197.post-47197711699192182392012-07-05T06:12:22.964-04:002012-07-05T06:12:22.964-04:00There is no reason we can think of that should pre...There is no reason we can think of that should prevent the public from knowing how the Judicial Branch will proceed with planning for GAL reform. There is great interest on the part of consumers. Whatever plans develop will have to be a good fit for families and children, or we are back to square one. Maine should not more "civilized violence" like that of the present GAL operation. Even MEGALI is coming up with ideas.

Transparency and inclusiveness should be the guiding principles of any JB plan for GAL reform. Oh, yes, ... and humane intelligence!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2125220381040097197.post-32599315517178104212012-07-03T16:21:19.519-04:002012-07-03T16:21:19.519-04:00We wrote to the Chief Justice this morning, throug...We wrote to the Chief Justice this morning, through Mary Ann Lynch, esq, her Director of Court Information to ask what's next in their plans? How will they use the data the got from public testimony, and who/how will mold data into a plan?

It was announced at the May 31st hearing that the Judicial Branch had engaged out-of-Maine consultants to help devise a plan. There are many different approaches to planning that a consultant can take. One approach is to design a "blueprint" for a plan based on complaints and suggestions made by the public. This can be reviewed and commented on by various "interests" and modified thereby. Another consultant model for planning is to directly interview various "interests" and plan with these interests, combining ideas for a final model.

The final step would be presentation to the legislature for debate, discussion and vote.

So ... How will they be used in planning?

How can we help?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
